Kindness Scavenger Hunt

With the summer holidays upon us, it can be challenging to find things to keep the children busy. We’ve come up with a Kindness Scavenger Hunt that we hope will capture their imagination while engaged in simple tasks and acts of kindness.

The Kindness Scavenger Hunt can be a day-long activity, or one which you spread out over a period of several days. You may choose to use any or all of the scavenger hunt clues, and will likely come up with a few of your own. The purpose is to provide an engaging goal for children as they help to tidy up or do other basic chores.

"Can you find a game or toy

to give another girl or boy?"

Start by having the Kindness Elves give the first clue. Every time your child(ren) finish a task, they can post a note through the letterbox to let the elves know that they’re ready for the next one. The note can include what they “found” and, in some instances, what they plan to do with it. Younger children may prefer to draw a picture of their treasure for the elves.

If you’d like to make the Kindness Scavenger Hunt more challenging for older children, have the elves ask for something more specific at the end of the clue. For instance, a particular colour or shaped object. If you are part of a play-group, many of the clues involve activities that children can work on cooperatively.
