Let's Make a Kindness Wishing Wand Together!
Let's Make a Kindness Wishing Wand Together!
Instructions:
Cut a star shape from the card. If you do't have sparkly or shiny card then you could simply decorate the card with colours, glitter or stickers to make it bright!
Take the long strip of paper and pen and write down as many Kindness Wishes as you can think of that you would really love to achieve in the coming year. This part needs some discussion first and would make a perfect table-time conversation to have as a family over a meal.
You could simply ask: "What did you love doing to help others this year?", "How did it make you feel when you helped them?", "In what ways would you like to show kindness and help this year?" Etc.

Once the ideas have been written (or dictated and scribed for pre-schoolers) then fold up the paper into a zig-zag shape.
Now stick it onto the back of the star so that when pulled out the writing will be facing forwards, easy to read.

Now add some curling ribbon for decoration and to make it fun to twirl and shake!
Share the Kindness Wishing Wand idea with friends and talk about the Acts of Kindness that each of you has planned! Maybe you could do some together?
This would be such a lovely activity to do at the start of the new year in the classroom, youth group, after school club, Sunday school and family circle.
There are so many opportunities for discussion and reflection and the stars would look great on display too!
